New terminal building signage and runway at Tamale Airport in Ghana, West Africa.
Tamale officially called Tamale Metropolitan Area and being the capital of Ghana northern region in West Africa, Tamale Airport had an extension to it’s runway and a new terminal building, it since then became ‘Tamale International Airport’ serving approximately 400,000 population within its region.
Because for many years we have been providing and installing signage for the Aviation industry in many airports across the UK including Heathrow being the largest, the main contractor first displayed their interest in working with us in 2021 for providing the signage on this project and in 2022 we won the contract.
The signage element of the project consisted of high level vertical brushed stainless illuminated lettering ‘Tamale International Airport’, lower level lettering for ‘Arrivals’ and ‘Departures’ and wayfinding signage for the terminal building.
Due to time frames and working towards the airport opening, the signs were transported in a container by sea freight on a three week delivery to Ghana and so logistically the project tested our abilities but we are delighted to say we successfully handled a project of this capacity from start to finish.
